Welcome to the South East Hants Community Diabetes Network. I am a Type 2 diabetic and whilst I do not have any knowledge of type 1 diabetes, I have a few type 1 diabetics helping me on the web site.

About 65 percent of people with diabetes will die from a heart attack or stroke, yet two out of every three people with diabetes are unaware of their increased risk. This web site has been developed to encourage those of you with diabetes to self manage your blood glucose (sugar), blood pressure and cholesterol. By keeping all three levels as close to normal as possible, you can live a long healthy life.
It is important to talk to other people with diabetes and share each other's experiences and ideas. This is a great way of getting support and making new friends, so I have included a chat room, bulletin board and information on the Diabetic groups in the Portsmouth and South East Hants area.
A community is like a ship - everyone ought to be prepared to take over the helm
